Change Me from the Inside Out
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2: 8-9).
This verse from our Bible talks about grace. What is grace? It is God’s free and undeserved favor for us. Grace is God’s free gift to us! This gift was expressed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Why do we need grace? All of us have made a mistake or have sinned (Romans 3: 23). Without grace we will not forgive those who mistreat us, we will remain angry, we will remain in our addictions that enslave us, we will gossip, we will lust, and so much more. Without grace we keep on sinning (Galatians 5: 19-21).
Therefore, we all need grace! We need something that will help us to do what is right, stay on the right path, and not be trapped in our sin. That something is God’s grace! Why God’s grace? It is God’s grace that wipes away our guilt, our sinful ways, and our desire to want to sin. Grace takes away the anger, the fear, the lust, the gossiping, and whatever we are struggling with in our lives. Grace does not celebrate when we fall down, rather grace covers our sins! Therefore, His grace saves us! (Ephesians 2: 8-9)
So are you tired of trying to do what is right on your own strength? Are you trying to be one person in public and then someone else in secret? That’s why the verse says “and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2: 8-9)
If you are tired and would like to see a change in your life then you need to receive God’s grace. So how do you get this grace? It’s really simple. You just have to have faith. This verse says for it is by grace that you have been saved, THROUGH faith. So you are saved BY grace, THROUGH faith. Faith is the means. Nobody can give it to you, you alone will have to say to God, “I accept that you came as a baby named Jesus, later became a man, and died on the cross for my sins. I believe that you died and rose on the third day. I believe now that my sins are forgiven.”
If you have said that prayer then you have now received God’s grace through faith. Now find yourself some people who walk in the path of Jesus and a Bible believing church that preaches the gospel and you will see the changes that will happen in your life!
